The material used is a clear heavy broadcloth that was jointly developed as an original nonnotte fabric by Kaneta Orimono, a weaver in Shizuoka Prefecture who is capable of weaving fabric at the highest density in the world, using thick organic extra-long staple cotton 35-count single yarn.
Its special features are that it is woven with a thick thread count at the highest possible density, and that it has a clear finish that gives it the appearance of a dress shirt.
Normally, when it comes to shirt counts, there is an aesthetic that the finer the thread count, such as 100 or 200, the better, but designer Sugihara felt that these threads only brought memories of the fabric getting wrinkled after one wear, and because they were difficult to care for, he gradually stopped buying them.
Even if broadcloth is woven with a thick thread count, it will simply become a normal, durable casual material like oxford.
Therefore, we felt it was necessary to create a fabric with a density comparable to that of a dress shirt while still maintaining the beauty of its surface.
Clear Heavy Broad is a fabric that was finally completed after many years of joint development with Kaneta Textiles.
Because it is 100% cotton, it will of course wrinkle, but we hope that you will appreciate the uneven creases that show the strength of the thick thread and are one of the characteristics of this material.
And this time we are focusing on color.
The colours used this time were chosen with the image of the most beautiful scene between the sunlight and the sunset, which can be seen from sunrise to sunset, as the day changes with each passing hour.
Starting now, we have named the style that represents the season, made with three-dimensional cutting (draping), "Draping," and we plan to release each type every season.
